Carey Compassion Dance Company

We have exciting new opportunities coming in 2026, and we are grateful for the way God continues to open doors for our community. Over the past ten years, we have seen God at work through these productions, raising over $100,000 for the Carey Right Track Foundation and Helping Hands Across the Sands. These funds have helped bring hope, support, and practical care to others in our wider community.

We invite you to join us as we use the gifts God has given us to serve and bless others. This year, we will be holding two different productions for dancers at different stages of their performing journey, creating space for growth, creativity, and calling.

LRRH CCDC Audition Banner (1)

Little Red Riding Hood is a much loved tale first written by Charles Perrault and later reimagined by the Brothers Grimm. We are excited to bring this classic and captivating story to life on stage.

Auditions for our amateur and junior performance will be held on Sunday 8 February at 3.00pm.

The performance will take place on 27 June 2026.

Cinderella CCDC Audition Banner (3)

Cinderella was originally written by the French author Charles Perrault and has since been retold in many cultures and generations around the world. In the twentieth century, the Cinderella story also inspired a beautiful ballet by Sergei Prokofiev. Drawing on this rich history, we will be adapting our own rendition of Cinderella to create a magical masterpiece that invites audiences on a journey through love, hope, and transformation.

Auditions for our experienced dancers will be held on Sunday 15 February 2026 at 4.00pm, with call backs for successful dancers on Saturday 22 February 2026 from 4.00 to 6.00pm.

There will be four performances held on 9, 10, and 11 October.

Technique Classes

Below you will find the timetable and fee structure for 2026. Fees are paid per term, with each term running between 8 and 10 weeks.

All class fees are directed toward supporting our production program. The funds raised through our performances are then given to our two supported charities. In 2023, we were thankful to raise over $16,000, helping to bring practical support and hope to others.

This program is run entirely by volunteers who faithfully give their time, skills, and hearts. We are grateful for the way God uses this community to grow our dancers and to serve the wider world.

Class Guidelines

We ask that children wear appropriate dancewear to all classes. Leotards with tights, a classical skirt, or bike shorts are all excellent choices. Hair should be kept off the face, preferably in a bun, but any tidy style is fine. Ballet shoes are essential and can be purchased from any dance store, and younger children may find suitable options at places like Kmart.

Please bring a water bottle with water only to every class. This helps children stay refreshed and focused, and ensures the classroom runs safely and smoothly.

Parents of children under 5 are welcome to stay in class. For children in grade 1 and above, we encourage parents to drop their child off and return for the last 10 minutes. This helps the class flow with minimal disruption, and allows students to fully engage in their learning. Parents are required to collect all children aged 17 and under directly from the dance room.

Food is not permitted in the classroom. If you are staying to watch a class, we ask that noise is kept to a minimum, especially with siblings, so that each child can participate fully and grow in skill and confidence. In this way, we create a space where God’s values of respect, care, and community are lived out in every class.

My dream as a dance teacher and director is to instil a passion of dance, provide opportunities to grow confidence, to kindle and nurture the idea of compassion to others, treating everyone with kindness. My mission is to use dance to engage all age groups. I hope to inspire young dancers and empower them to make an awesome difference in this world whilst achieving their dreams.
