COVID-19 Response Updates

Latest update | July 8 2021

Hi Carey Church Family,

As you may be aware, restrictions are in place this Sunday 11 July, in particular:
1. Masks are to be worn inside
2. Worship Services are limited to 150 people.

Harrisdale | 9:30am
Due to these restrictions, we are providing both:
* a live-streamed, online church experience, as well as
* a limited capacity, in-person service in the auditorium.

To assist with number restrictions, the in-person seats will be available for youth (year 7+) and adults only. Unfortunately, we will not be able to run Carey Kids and therefore, children are asked to please enjoy the service at home online with a parent this week. There will be a Carey Kids video lesson included in the main service for our youngest church family members.

For those attending the in-person service, the Youth Zone will be open for our Youth to sit and worship together but there will not be an after service program. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer morning tea or tea/coffee this week either – apologies!

Forrestdale | 10:00am
For our Forrestdale Campus service, we plan to meet in person. The 150 person limit will also apply.

Carey at Night | 5:30pm
For our Carey at Night service, we plan to meet in person. As normal, there is no Carey Kids program at our evening service. The 150 person limit will also apply.

Covid Safety
To keep Carey Church as safe as possible, at all in-person gatherings this weekend we will:

  • have SafeWA QR codes and manual sign-ins available;
  • hand sanitiser stations available;
  • ensure appropriate social distancing measures are in place;
  • ensure appropriate cleaning of surfaces; and
  • ask people to wear masks.

We can’t wait to meet together again as a church family soon and appreciate your understanding.

Serving others

This change in the way we do church has shifted us from being the church “gathered” to the church “scattered”. It has brought unprecedented opportunity to serve and love others in tangible ways in a time of real need.

I encourage you to take hold of this opportunity in two ways. Firstly, be seeking ways to serve your own friends, colleagues, neighbours and community. Give them a call to check-in. Find out what you can do to help – remembering to do so with the appropriate hygiene practices in place to care for both yourself and those you are helping.

In a similar way, we would love you to be part of the church community team who will be doing these  things for people: making calls to those in isolation, assisting with food delivery (either by shopping or providing meals for others), praying and/or being available to offer other assistance that might be required.  To join this team, please send an email to or go to our online form here.

A Flourishing Community of Hope

We continue to hold our vision that we are becoming a flourishing community of hope. It may look and feel a bit different to how we might have imagined it just a few months ago, but it is exciting to be seeking God’s heart for us, together.

Please make sure we have your updated details, so we can communicate well with you. If you become sick or are feeling isolated, please let us know so we can call to check-in. And, of course, if you have questions, please let us know – is the email address to use.

Our hope rests on Jesus and on the knowledge of God’s love. Nothing can take that away or change it. We may be living in circumstances that feel different than we have experienced before, but we continue to live in the light of eternity and eternal love given by the Father and available through his Spirit.
